Skill Builders provide services in the community to assist at-risk children in acquiring, developing and improving various behavioral and social skills to assist them in making progress towards their personal goals. The Skill Builder will also provide respite services which give the child the opportunity to experience community, recreational or individual activities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Creates, plans and implements Skill Building activities in accordance to the child’s individualized service plan, using creativity and utilizing community resources
Regularly communicates with the Individualized Care Coordinator, performs any related duties as assigned and seeks information from the ICC regarding the Skill Builder’s role with a specific child and family
Models and teaches socially acceptable behaviors
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High School diploma with one (1) year experience working with children (preference given to those with experience working with children of special needs).
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Must maintain valid driver’s license.
