SUMMARY: Responsible for providing professional
clinical services including psychotherapeutic interventions, group
and individual meetings, and providing restorative services to
residents of the Child and Youth Program. Provides input in
developing an Individualized Action Plan for each resident. Meets
with residents on a regular basis for supportive counseling and/or
therapeutic interventions. Leads crisis response and de escalation
interventions. Trains and models therapeutic crisis intervention
techniques and other related training needs for staff.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Act as the mental health clinical resource at the Child and Youth program.
Provide counseling and crisis support to residence on an
intermittent and scheduled basis based on resident needs.
Therapist will maintain regular communication with families
regarding their therapeutic interactions with the child and provide
behavioral progress updates.
Therapist will support the implementation of the mental health
treatment plan in the residential setting.
Provide crisis response and interventions at the community
residence, community and school setting.
Act as part of CYP administrative team and active participant in
service planning and goal work.
Develop individualized resources or strategies for each resident as
needed to meet their needs.
Attend Day Treatment screenings for those residents who attend.

Develop and implement psychoeducational group programs for youth to
attend at the community residence.
Group activity planner. Coordinate weekly activities with group home
staff and devise therapeutic activities for staff to implement.
Ensure that service delivery is in a trauma informed, culturally and
linguistically competent manner.
Manages a peer group, understands peer group dynamics, promotes and
maintains a positive peer group culture.
Consult with multidisciplinary team to discuss assessment, treatment,
advocacy and other resources to promote consumer health and wellness.
Maintains clinical licensure.
Maintains a high level of confidentiality of all information managed.
Provide direct care as needed.
Other job-related duties as assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Possession of a current valid New York State license through the
Department of Education for LMSW, LCSW, LCSW-R , LMHC, LMFT, or LCAT.
One (1) year of prior experience with the designated population
(children) is required.
